Why I chose to make this costume:
I LOVE the Apothecary DIaries and already cosplayed Maomao once with my friend @malinda_chan as Jinshi. We decided to make the Moonfairy costumes at the start of Apothecary Diaries Season 2, since the Moonfairy scene is such an iconic part of the story, and we love the designs and colors of these outfits!
How I made this costume:
@malinda_chan and I coordinated fabric choices again and each made our own costume from scratch. I sourced Chinese jaquard fabrics and chiffons for Maomao's outfit and tried to strike a balance between making her pretty but not too overly detailed. Maomao is only an attendant afterall and wouldn't have too much bling on her outfit.
Thoughts on this costume:
I probably will make at least two or more costumes from Apothecary Diaries! I just love this series so much, and this photoshoot was so much fun! We did some photos in our neighbors’ beautiful garden as well as a studio set I made!
