So. Hobbiton. It was everything I had dreamed of and so much more.
Everywhere I turned, it was a cute postcard or a beautiful vista. We went on the Banquet Feast tour, which lets you walk through the Shire in a smaller group at dusk and then leads you to the Green Dragon for drinks and dinner. The day was perfect, clear and brisk but not too cold.
I can’t believe how VIVID the colors of the grass and the sky were, and how many flowers were blooming. The 39 hobbit holes were created in exquisite details and you definitely could lose yourself in the magic and forget this used to be a movie set.
I took so many photos that I’ll have to make another post or two to share them. Definitely go on the Evening Banquet tour if you can, as it gives you more time to see everything and then feeds you a smashing dinner.
It feels so nice to check off so many bucket list items on this trip!! Literally have been waiting to come here for 20 years.
