San
Mononoke Hime

Why I chose to make this costume:
Mononoke Hime is my favorite Ghibli film! I never cosplayed from it before now because it was such a simple costume and I was more into construction back then. But ever since I visited the Ghibli Themepark outside of Nagoya, Japan, I have wanted to finally cosplay San!
How I made this costume:
I didna't make this costime!!! It was generously given to me by my dear friend @pixel_stitcher!!! I visited her a while back and talked about wanting to cosplay San and she was like “want the costume I made a few years ago?”😍😭❤️
I airbrushed the dress and apron to look dirty, sewed a loose desert weave layer to the apron and tweaked some smol parts like the necklace. I also made a dagger head out of EVA foam with an interchangeable handle for a staff, which made posing more fun.
But otherwise, it’s all @pixel_stitcher’s handiwork!
Thoughts on this costume:
I took San to Colorado during a friends' cabin trip, and wore her at stunning Bear Lake! The whole visit was breathtaking, and when we weren’t taking photos (or posing for tourists lol), we just gawked at the amazing scenery.
