Pirate Majima
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Why I chose to make this costume:
I love Majima and knew I had to cosplay the pirate outfit as soon as Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii was announced!
How I made this costume:
I made this costume in time to be on a big ship and had a blast running around the decks! I used a shiny foiled scale fabric for the black coat because my lady version of Majima is always a lil bit more flashy and I like the sparkles lol, and a purple brocade from a previous @cosplayfabrics collection for the lining/lapels/sleeve cuffs. A lot of gold vinyl Hong Kong binding and 30+ gold buttons later, the coat was done. I also made the two big belts out of leather (unsure why I didn’t just buy & alter?) and the purple sash. I had collected some nice pirate props many years ago that were destined for Majima, and did leatherwork to make the harnesses for them.
Oh! I also made the eyepatch haha!
Thoughts on this costume:
I’m so glad I worked hard to finish this Majima costume in time for the Comic-Con Cruise! It’s a dream to be on the open ocean as this character! I had so much fun running around the ship, taking photos and videos in the most incredible nautical themed areas!
Aside from that, what can I say? I love this goober of a man and have a blast cosplaying him in my own way!
