Moonlit Aria
Aion 2

Photographer
Why I chose to make this costume:
I made this costume for a promotional campaign for the Aion 2 video game team!
How I made this costume:
It took a village to make this costume during the short turnaround time (mostly due to my travel schedule)!
I did most of the sewing work and of course all the patterning, fabric selection etc. But I couldn't have done it without the help of my friends:
@alliecatcosplay - snowflake graphics, wig styling, crafting help
@storytellercosplay - 3D printing & crafting help
@mimicrycosplay - 3D modeling
@dardasisters last min crafting help lol
@mjasmine.design & twiincosplay - cutting lace w/ me in Mexico City 😂
@myrrhamagica letting me borrow her sewing machine in Wisconsin!
Thank you all so much!
The costume consists of a white lace corset and a skirt and collar made of white scuba fabric. The statement piece is definitely the sheer coat, which I made with voile and covered in lace aqqpliques. I also created the feather trim, which is actually a mixture of faux fur and string feathers. The snowflakes were printed with my apparel printer and ironed on. The crown, cuffs and jewelry bits were resin printed and attached with expoxy.
An insane amount of hand sewing was required for this costume, and at one point, four of us were frantically stitching and epoxy-ing before the photoshoot!
Thoughts on this costume:
Counting the days I could work on this costume, with help... it was only 5 days! I'm really proud of how Moonlit Aria came out for that short amount of time - the costume quality is really high and it is securely wearable.
I asked World of Gwendana to shoot this costume for his incredible cinematic eye and unmatched composition and color-grading.
To make the photos and my campaign video have an extra fantasy feel, I build a wedding arch and brought it into the woods lol! We are doing on location set building now!
Watch my Cosplay Reveal video!
I can't wait to wear Moonlit Aria to a convention!
