Why I chose to make this costume:
I’m transforming a bought cosplay into an original costume using the new bernette 38 Yaya Han Edition!
After bringing TWO pastel purple sewing machines to market with @bernetteusa and @berninausa, I wanted to make a costume in matching colors and evoking the theme of this collection. I’ve been collecting fabrics for a while and also finally dipped into my big stash of gold trims from Mumbai!
How I made this costume:
This project has taken up most of my October and it’s been so fun to play with beautiful fabrics and trims, shapes, embroideries and layers!
I documented the whole process and will share it in a multi-part video series in the next few weeks! Come watch the b38 in action, taking on whatever I throw at it! I feel invincible with this machine + the (included) walking foot attachment!
I also have been using the heck out of my @famorecutlery scissors and seam ripper, which were so helpful in taking apart the Raiden Shogun maid costume I bought on sale during the panini and never used lol! It was a GREAT starting point for this project!
