Why I chose to make this costume:
After following the Jujutsu Kaisen anime since the beginning, I finally cosplayed from it!
This is a casual Mei Mei put together for a photoshoot in Tokyo, but it scratched the itch of finally cosplaying from this show that has become a minor obsession for me hahaha. I waited so long to do a costume from it partially because I love all the characters so much and couldn’t decide who to be!!
How I made this costume:
I used clothes from my closet to put together this outfit! I will make a proper Mei Mei cosplay later this year!
I did order an Amazon wig, which I crimped and styled in an evening. It’s not great, I gotta redo it properly, but it was enough for the photos!
Thoughts on this costume:
The photos were taken by @brian_b_boling at a super cool cosplay studio in Tokyo called a ruin which featured several gritty industrial settings! We kinda winged it with two flashes as lighting (most portable option on an Intl. trip) and I brought a riding crop as a prop in lieu of her giant axe. Mei Mei definitely has that energy lmao!
She also would probably be counting her money even during the apocalypse, no? 😂
