At New York Anime Fest 2009 my friend Anna and I won the Yume Cosplay Cup with our Vampire Hunter D costumes, and the prize entailed a 5 day paid trip to Tokyo, Japan and $1000 spending money there. We used the money to add on hotel nights to the trip and ended up spending 9 glorious days in Japan. This being our first trip there, we decided to stay in and around the Tokyo area and explore it to our fullest. The trip took place end of March into April 2010.

As you can see, we took a ton of photos so to make it easier for the gallery to load, I split it into 5 parts. 

First couple of days in Tokyo
Once we learned the genius train system, it was easy to get around. We walked from Shibuya to Harajuku, and went to the giant Disney store as well as the even bigger Tower Books, where I happen to find a book with myself in it lol. We explored Akihabara even in the rain and gawked at never ending shelves of anime/video game merchandise. Even did some shoppin!
